Optimization Settings

Select the item "Optimization" in the explorer and edit its options in the property window:

• Auto-Stop

  If "Auto-Stop=Autoamtic Stop", the optimization process will stop automatically, when the objective function does not change any more. The optimization will finished after a numer of optimization steps, if the option "Auto-Stop=Manual Stop". If "Auto-Stop=Limited Auto-Stop", the optimization process will stop automatically within a given number of optimization steps.

   

• Optimization Steps

  This option is available, when "Auto-Stop<>Automatic Stop". The given number of the optimization steps is the number of simulation runs. If the number has been reached, the optimization process will exit. If the number has been increased after the optimization, the optimization process can continue using the menu "Project/ Continue".

   

• Start Step

  This option is normally set to Standard. It uses the standard start step for the optimization based on the defined search boundaries. Set the option to Manual to change the different start step for different nominal parameters. see nominal settings.

Optimization Method

There are several optimization methods to be selected. If user is not an optimization expert, just let the option to Standard. The best method for the defined optimization problem will be selected automatically.
