Strain Energy Density

The element "Strain Energy Density" represents the relationship between stress and strain for fatigue life prediction. It requires  2 input variables as stress and strain from external FEM simulation inserted in OptiY as criteria or constraints. Its dynamical load function is defined separate as a stochastic design parameter. Double-click on its symbol in the workflow editor to open the property window:

• Name

  It is the name of the node. This name may be defined basically once time for the entire experiment.

   

• Unit

  The unit for the node.

   

• Comment

  The comment for the node.

   

• Strain

  It is the strain variable, which has to be selected from one of all criteria and constraints inserted in the experiment. 

   

• Stress

  It is the stress variable, which has to be selected from one of all criteria and constraints inserted in the experiment.
